Our initial vacation plan had been to hire one of the team vehicles and to drive through the Caprivi Strip to visit the Victoria Falls. This fell over when first one vehicle and then the other became inoperable due to mechanical failure. Our plans were further complicated when we needed to go to Swakopmund to visit the counsellor without knowing how long the process would take. Both Craig and I were keen to have a proper break. Thankfully we were able to organise a self drive holiday to go to Victoria Falls.
We picked up our vehicle in Windhoek and we drove to the border with Botswana. Our trip took us through the Okavango Delta, before crossing back into Namibia and going through part of the Caprivi Strip. We then crossed back into Botswana briefly before entering Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls. On leaving the falls we came back through the Caprivi Strip and went on to Etosha National Park and finished in Windhoek. Our time away was a tremendous blessing from God. We had special moments and experiences all along the way that were gifts from our loving Father. For us it was significant that we spent our first night and our last night in San or bushmen establishments where the bushmen people we met were so delighted to know we had spent the last twelve months with bushmen in Tsumkwe and had learned some language.
